Day 1: Make, Train, and Release Disciples into Ministry
“Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
“Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me.”
Matthew 9:37-38 NIV
“Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.’”
Acts 1:8 NIV
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
“And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!’”
REFLECTION QUESTIONS
- How have I neglected my discipleship journey?
- How can I enjoy God’s faithfulness in how he is changing me?
Day 2: Pastorally Care for Those in Our Community
John 13:34-35 NIV
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
“Care for the flock that God has entrusted to you. Watch over it willingly, not grudgingly—not for what you will get out of it, but because you are eager to serve God.”
2 Timothy 4:2 NLT
“Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching.”
1 Thessalonians 5:14 NIV
“And we urge you, brothers and sisters, warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone.”
1 Peter 4:10 NIV
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
REFLECTION QUESTIONS
- Is there something in your heart limiting you from receiving and giving God’s love?
- Who are the people in our community you could extend some support or care to?
Day 3: Help the Poor and Needy Outside of Our Community
Generosity is a core value in our church. God has been so generous with us, so we live generous lives! It’s not just about money, but in our time, words, and service, we can be generous. We’re praying for our hands, feet, and hearts to be generous the way Jesus lived a generous life.
James 1:27 NLT
“Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.”
Proverbs 28:27 NLT
“Whoever gives to the poor will lack nothing, but those who close their eyes to poverty will be cursed.”
Deuteronomy 15:10 NLT
“Give generously to the poor, not grudgingly, for the Lord your God will bless you in everything you do.”
Luke 14:12-14 NLT
“Then he turned to his host. “When you put on a luncheon or a banquet,” he said, “don’t invite your friends, brothers, relatives, and rich neighbors. For they will invite you back, and that will be your only reward. Instead, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind. Then at the resurrection of the righteous, God will reward you for inviting those who could not repay you.”
Matthew 25:34-40 MSG
“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Enter, you who are blessed by my Father! Take what’s coming to you in this kingdom. It’s been ready for you since the world’s foundation. And here’s why: I was hungry and you fed me, I was thirsty and you gave me a drink, I was homeless and you gave me a room, I was shivering and you gave me clothes, I was sick and you stopped to visit, I was in prison and you came to me.’ “Then those ‘sheep’ are going to say, ‘Master, what are you talking about? When did we ever see you hungry and feed you, thirsty and give you a drink? And when did we ever see you sick or in prison and come to you?’ And when did we ever see you sick or in prison and come to you?’ Then the King will say, ‘I’m telling the solemn truth: Whenever you did one of these things to someone overlooked or ignored, that was me—you did it to me.’
REFLECTION QUESTIONS
- How have I grumbled or complained about things that other people would thank God for?
- How is God challenging me to be more generous in this season?
Day 4: Training and Blessing Pastors and Churches Outside of Our Community
1 Corinthians 1:10 NLT
“I appeal to you, dear brothers and sisters, by the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ, to live in harmony with each other. Let there be no divisions in the church. Rather, be of one mind, united in thought and purpose.”
“Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith.”
Acts 20:35 NIV
“And I have been a constant example of how you can help those in need by working hard. You should remember the words of the Lord Jesus: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
Romans 12:13 NLT

Ephesians 4:16 NLT

- Is there a church you can pray for?

WATCH THIS VIDEO TO LEARN ABOUT FASTING ->
What is Fasting?
Fasting is when you give up food for a certain amount of time. When we remove or reduce our food intake, it weakens our bodies, forcing us to become closer to God and rely on his strength more than our own.
Fasting is not required for salvation, and there’s no pressure! But, it is something that Jesus did (he didn’t eat for 40 days at one time) and instructed his disciples to do. Check out Matthew 4:1-11 and Matthew 6:16-18 to see more about Jesus’ heart for fasting.

What Does a Fast Look Like?
The biblical model for fasting means giving up food—either completely or in part. You can also fast from distractions like social media and technology. Although these are not in the Bible, it does make sense to fast from things that distract you in your relationship with God. However, we’d encourage you to also fast from food—this is the best way to notice your physical weakness and begin to rely on God’s strength.
