Grow Your Relationship with God Through Spiritual Disciplines

Spiritual Disciplines: Prayer and Fasting is a single-session class designed to help participants move beyond routine and into deeper conviction and understanding of these core spiritual practices. Prayer and fasting are not just actions—we engage in them to draw near to God, align with his heart, and grow in spiritual maturity.
 
In this session, we’ll explore the biblical foundations of prayer and fasting and the posture that sustains them. You’ll learn various ways to pray—such as intercession, worship, listening, and conversational prayer—and gain clarity on why and how we fast. The focus is not performance, but connection with God and the formation of a life rooted in dependence on him.


What to Expect in This Class:

  • Understanding the purpose and heart behind prayer and fasting
  • Exploring different expressions and rhythms of prayer
  • Learning the biblical reasons for fasting and how it cultivates spiritual hunger
  • Practical steps to develop and sustain these practices
  • Cultivating conviction, not just discipline, in your walk with God
 
This class is part of the Spiritual Disciplines series, each one designed to help you grow in intimacy with Jesus and live a Spirit-led life.

This course is only open to BUILD graduates. If you haven’t completed BUILD, you can sign up here.

This session will cover an Introduction to Spiritual Disciplines and the Practice of Sabbath.

This is a one-time session. Additional classes on other spiritual disciplines will be released in the future, but this session is not a prerequisite for future ones.
