Know God through the Word

Aside from being a book of truths, the Bible is a gift of God to his people. It is given as one of the means by which God reveals himself to us. Although we can hear from God in a number of ways, we most clearly discern his voice through reading his word. Tragically, though, this priceless treasure is often overlooked and undervalued. Instead of being opened with enthusiasm, it often sits untouched and unopened.

This course is designed not only to teach us the basics and offer us practical tips in developing the discipline of Bible reading but also to fan the flames of desire to encounter the living God via reading the Scriptures.

Our hope is that this course would create a hunger to seek and know God more through his Word.

Our four-session How to Read Your Bible course covers topics such as:

  • Why we need to read the Bible
  • How NOT to read your Bible
  • How to interpret Scriptures correctly
  • Understanding the different books of the Bible
  • Practical tips for Bible reading
  • Meditation and contemplation
Who would benefit from this course?
  • New believers who are about to begin their journey in the faith
  • Anyone who wants to have a better understanding of how to read and understand the Bible correctly 
  • Anyone who wants to start or restart a daily habit of reading the Bible
If you’re a new Christian, this course is perfect for you! Following Jesus is a lifelong journey, and this course will equip you with tools that will sustain you for decades to come. Or, if you’re been a Christian a while, this course is great for you too. God’s word is alive and powerful, and there’s always so much to learn and be challenged in.

If you’ve completed How to Read Your Bible, this next step is for you. In this engaging journey into the world of ancient literature and the beauty of Scripture, you’ll learn to understand the Scriptures in a deeper and more meaningful way, gaining a fresh perspective. Together, we’ll explore the genres, history, arcs, and literary devices the writers used, and uncover the “story underneath the story,” bringing clarity and life to what you read. By the end, you’ll be equipped to understand the Bible more fully and know Jesus more deeply through His Word.

We don’t have any make-up classes available, so kindly clear your schedules and set your calendars!

This class will run for 3 Tuesday nights starting September 16 from 7-9PM at the Favor Studio, Shangri-La Plaza (6F, East Wing, Shangri-La Mall, Mandaluyong City).

Some foundational lessons are addressed in Build, which will not be covered by this course.
