What's a Connect Group meeting like?
The Favor Korea Connect Group is meant for people living in Korea who want to be part of Favor Church. We will eventually transition to meeting physically in Korea when the home church launches. Meetups will be conducted primarily in English. All ages and stages are welcome! We’d love to meet you, get to know you, and help you find family!
We start Connect Group by sharing praise reports and celebrating what God is doing in our personal lives. Then, we watch a short video, before discussing the video and how it applies to our lives. At the end, we have a chance to pray for each other.
In this initial stage before the launch of Favor Church Korea when we are unable to meet together physically, we will meet online regularly via Zoom. Connect meetings can be light and fun, but are also a safe space for sharing about prayer needs, faith questions, and real life. A Connect Group is not perfect, but it’s authentic, and the best place to get planted to grow with others in your journey and relationship with God.
Connect Group meetings are a safe space where people can talk about their lives, process their beliefs, learn about who God is, celebrate wins, and encourage each other through challenges. We value authentic community and believe that we grow better with others, in life and in your relationship with God.Â
We are currently in the planning stages for launching midweek Connect Groups we hold Connect Group online every two weeks to accommodate people’s weekday schedules and locations. However, as our church and team grows, we will begin meeting in-person in locations around the city.  Â

WHAT IS
Social Connect Week
?
Not sure about “this religion thing”? While we believe our gatherings are really about relationships, not religion, we understand church-based groups can feel intimidating, especially if you’re going alone.Â
Every few weeks, we have a Social Connect hangout where we just have fun over board games, bowling, picnics, cafe-hopping, or noraebang! Come join us then! Â

You Asked
I already attend on Sundays. Why do I need to join a Connect Group?
Being in a Connect Group not only helps you grow in your relationship with God, it also connects you with other people who are on the same journey as you. During weekday Connect Group meetings, there’s more space and time to talk about day-to-day challenges, ask questions about the message or about living out our faith in real life, share prayer requests, give and seek encouragement, and learn from each other. Meeting in a smaller group also allows our leaders to pastorally care for you and get to know you better.
What if I don't really feel comfortable talking about myself?
We believe that God designed us to be in community and to carry each others burdens, care for, and pray for one another, but, don’t worry, you won’t be forced to share or pray if you’re not yet comfortable doing so. You can listen and learn from others in the group, who you may be surprised are going through similar struggles.Â
Is a Connect Group a Bible study?
Favor Connect Groups are more than just a bible study. While we do study the Bible, it’s also an opportunity to connect with other people as well. We don’t do an intense, in-depth Bible study within our Connect Group because we have different people of different ages at different stages of their walk with Jesus, with different levels of knowledge of the Bible. Instead we focus on different life topics that people can talk about and apply to their lives, based on what the Bible says. We also believe that Connect Group members should also be practicing self-discipleship and personal Bible study and time with God as well!Â
Will Connect Groups only be online?
No, our goal is to be able to meet in-person in different locations around the city.Â
What are Sunday Connect Groups?
After the pastor’s message on Sundays, we break off into groups of 4-6 people to talk about the message, ask questions, celebrate current wins, share challenges, and pray for each other.  We value authentic community and believe that we grow better with others, in life and in your relationship with God. Participating in a group isn’t a requirement, and you’re welcome to just observe, but we encourage you to try it!Â

Sunday Connects are organic hangouts, a safe space where people can talk about their lives, process their beliefs, learn about who God is, celebrate wins, and encourage each other through challenges. We also hear a message from our lead pastor, sing praise and worship songs together, and pray for one another. There’s snacks and coffee after, too! Our Sunday Connects are like weekly family gatherings where authentic conversations take place, no matter what age group, gender, social class, and nationality you belong to. In the process, we hope these hangouts will grow your faith in God with this chosen family.

We always start Connect by sharing praise reports and celebrating what God is doing in our personal lives. Then, we watch a short video, before discussing the video and how it applies to our lives. At the end, we have a chance to pray for each other.
You’ll hear us refer to ‘Connect Week’ in services or around our church. All our Connect Groups meet every other week – this week is ‘Connect Week’. It’s something we all look forward to and get excited about!
It’s a special Connect Week that happens every once in a while, where we take a break from the usual format and change it up. We do fun activities, play games, get to know each other better, and have a whole lot of fun!
Yes! We have Connects for teenagers, college students, young professionals, married couples, adults, and even seniors (we call them our ‘seasoned’ community). We’re intentional about placing you in a group with people who are at a similar life stage to you – so that you can do life together!
We understand that not every Connect is a perfect fit. If you try a Connect and don’t like it, that’s okay! Just let us know by talking to your leader and we’ll help you find the group that’s right for you.
That’s okay! If you can’t make it, just join us next time!
If they’re not yet involved in another local church and are looking for community, we’d love to welcome them! Just let your Connect Leader know, so that they can welcome your friend!
