In 2023, our Connect Groups are going physical

Life's better when we're together!

Why are we transitioning?

Biblical Basis

Hebrews 10:25 NLT says, “And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.”

Scripture does not simply call us to watch a service but to be among a community of believers that loves, forgives, and prays for one another in the laying of hands. This is experienced to the full when we meet together physically.

Just Better

Zoom was a needed necessity for a season but it is not the long-term solution moving forward as we all experience “zoom fatigue.” Many groups have begun to meet physically and most if not all, say just how much better it is as they laugh, share, and eat together.

Direction of

the Church

As we come out of the pandemic, we have committed to gathering physically—we were one of the first churches in Manila to do so! We have a conviction that there is a marked difference between just watching a service and physically being a part of a community.

Answers to questions you might have

We believe that meeting online was our only option for a season (because meeting physically was illegal here in the Philippines). As we move out of the pandemic we want to strengthen our physical presence because that’s the best way we can pastorally care for our people. We believe that people should be planted in an accessible, physical, local church just like how it is modeled in the Bible

Whether you are from an international or local group, your Connect Group leader will initiate coordinating for your group’s next steps—whether that is working out where to meet physically, helping you find new Connect Groups you can attend, or assisting you in signing up for our Online Connect.
At Favor, we believe that there is power in the church coming together to meet physically. For certain locations, such as Davao and Bacolod in the Philippines, we have groups that are capable of meeting and holding Connects physically. Even if they tune in to our Sunday services and events online, they do this together! If your location holds no possibility of being able to meet with your Favor Fam physically, we encourage you to find a local church near you where you can find people to do life with! We strongly suggest this and know that it will be beneficial for you and your local church. 💛 Should you really wish to stay connected to Favor, you can also sign up for our Online Connect at the lower section of this website.

Once your Connect Group makes the transition to meet physically, you will have to decide on a consistent meeting location. Upon deciding, we encourage you to continue to meet as a group.

However, if some members cannot not make it due to distance or difficulties in traveling, they have the option to transfer to a different Connect Group that meets within their area. If that’s you, your Connect Leader can help you make the transfer! The reality is, you will most likely transfer to a new group as most people would want to be placed near their home or workplace for convenience. If you want to stay with your current group or Connect Leader, you will have to be willing to travel to wherever the new location will be.

You have two options.

1) Let your Connect leader know and he/she will help organize your transfer to a new Connect.

2) Let your current Connect leader know that you will be transferring and then sign up for a Connect Group again through this form. This is our recommended option to ensure that our team can assign you to the group that’s the right fit for you!

When our church went online, people from all over the world got connected to our family. If you would like to stay connected to Favor and start meeting with a Connect Group physically, but you’re far from our existing campus locations (Manila and Brisbane), we would love to help out and see if there is any possibility that someone in your area is also connected to Favor. Send us your info through this form so we can help you!

What people are saying:

I loved my time with my online connect group during the pandemic. They were the ones who really helped me grow when I started in the community. However, it felt like I could only connect and grow with people so much online. It’s just really great to rub shoulders with your connect group mates in real life and really listen to them sharing their thoughts and their stories, and for me to be able to share as well. I was also able to do a lot of things with my connect group now that I wasn’t able to do online: attend services and Favor Conference with them, play bowling with them, cry on each other’s shoulders, and just really grow together in our community now. Being in a physical connect group has been such a blast, and I couldn’t be any more thankful for my connect group now!
Albert Fibra, Favor Movement (Young Adults)
We first attended Favor Church in 2019, still in Shang. We were planted to Favor in 2020 and from being a part of an online connect, we transitioned to joining a physical connect – led by Patrick & Roge Jose.  We knew Favor Church is our new home when we welcomed a new season but it’s when we first met with Pat & Roge’s connect group that we found our family in church. Everyone just clicked when we had our connect meeting. It felt as if we knew each other for a long time.  Being around everyone in the group felt a safe space – a place where we can be open, honest, authentic and transparent with one another with no judgement. We cried together, laugh together, helped one another, had fun together, pray for one another, and so much more. At first, we thought that it is just a small group that meets every connect week but it turned out to be a family that God knew we needed.

Doing our Connect Group online is a gift ,but Connecting Face to Face is way more intimate and fun.   We miss crying and laughing together . Of course, always with food. Being able to hold  hands, a good hug and a “beso-beso”, light up our day.    We appreciate each other’s smile on our faces without filters. We missed dressing up for our photos. We love sharing lives, laying hands and praying for each other. But most of all sharing the Word of GOD and all  His goodness.  Come on, let’s have our faith in action!

Online Connect

Who It’s For:

  • Those who are unable to attend a physical Connect Group for health or personal reasons.

  • Those who do are unable to attend a physical Connect Group because they are based outside of Metro Manila or live in a different country but still want to call Favor Church their home.

What to Expect:

  • The Online Connect will be one big group meeting over Zoom, which will meet during Connect Weeks on the same day and at the same time. (Eg. Saturdays at 9am)

  • We will still meet once every two weeks (bi-weekly).

  • There will be breakout rooms after watching the Connect material so you can discuss with other online Favor Fam attendees.
